How to Customize Category Filters
Customize how category filters appear on your Storemapper map. Choose from dropdown menus, checkbox lists, or filter buttons and control how the options are arranged.
Configure Category Filters
- In your Storemapper dashboard, go to Settings > Account Settings > General. Then, locate the Category Filters section..
The Category Filters section includes three settings: Display style, Option layout and Select All option.
Choose a Display Style
- Select how category options are displayed to visitors on your map.
Dropdown Menus
- Displays category options inside dropdown menus. This keeps the filter area compact and is useful when you have several categories.
Checkbox Lists
- Displays category options directly on the map as a list of checkboxes. Visitors can see and select categories without opening a dropdown.
Filter Buttons
- Displays category options as clickable buttons. Visitors can quickly select or change categories directly from the map.
Tip: Checkbox lists and filter buttons display category options directly on the widget, reducing the number of clicks needed to filter locations.
Choose an Option Layout
- Choose how your category options are arranged.
Vertical
- Displays the options from top to bottom.
Horizontal
- Displays the options from left to right.
The layout can be used with dropdown menus, checkbox lists and filter buttons.
Show the Select All Option
- Enable Show Select All in checkbox and button filters to give visitors an option to select all categories at once.
- When enabled, visitors can use Select All to quickly select every category.
- When disabled, visitors can clear their selections by manually deselecting the selected options.
Note: The Select All option is only available for checkbox lists and filter buttons.
