Show results using your customers browser or GPS

You can set up your map to show results using your customers location. This will happen automatically once your end user lands on your locator page and only if he/she prompts the browser using his/her location.

A small pop up will show in the top left hand corner asking if we can use their current location. If the user selects “yes”, the nearest store will automatically show on the map.The user can also select “no” in which they will just need to search for a location as normal.

  1. Login to your account from our sign in page or from Shopify Apps (if you installed Storemapper from Shopify App Store)
  2. Go to ‘Settings’ -> ‘General’ and scroll down to “Behaviour”. Choose ‘Yes’ from ‘Geolocation: Ask for user location’ drop down.

The pop up will ask the customer if we can use their location. If yes, it will take them to the closest store based on their IP address. If not, they can just search as normal.

Important

This feature will work only on secure websites (running on https).

You can also track this in your Analytics tool to see the amount of customers that opted into using their GPS location to pull up their closest store.
