Handling addresses split across multiple columns
We do recommend that your addresses are added across one single line for simplicity and consistency. However, depending on your data format and workflow, you may find it easier to split your address into multiple columns. This is especially helpful if your address information is already separated in your data source or if you’re managing a large number of locations.
If you choose to split out the address, we recommend using the following format and column headers directly after the initial “address” column in your CSV:
Suggested format:
| Street | City | State | Zipcode |
| 123 Main St. | Washington | DC | 20001 |
This allows for better organization and can help reduce errors during the import process. Once your CSV is ready and formatted correctly, make sure to check the box labeled “Address data is spread across multiple columns” when importing your file back into your Storemapper account. This step ensures your data is interpreted correctly by the system.
Please note that splitting the address into separate columns is only supported for CSV uploads. If you’re using the Google Drive integration, addresses must remain in a single line of raw data.
